Clean and detoxify your body for optimum health

Rebecca was having a difficult time. She could tell that something was wrong. It just wasn't clear to her what was happening.

Rebecca noticed her energy levels were not up to par for the last few months. She was becoming fatigued while performing the most normal of tasks, like sweeping the floor and unloading the dishwasher.

She was also having a terrible time concentrating on her work. Going into the office became a chore because she dreaded focusing on a task. Her performance was slipping, and her managers were noticing.

Memo after memo asked her if she was okay. Was she feeling like her usual self, and if she needs anything?

She wasn't sure what she needed.

These symptoms came upon her gradually, but they didn't seem to be letting up so far. Rebecca thought for sure it was something simple. So, she tried to switch up her routine, focus on getting enough sleep, eating healthy, and trying to fit in more exercise.

Rebecca was not one to give up. She was determined to change the way she felt. She implemented these changes in her life and stuck to them. However, after several weeks, her symptoms didn't go away and seemed to worsen.

Also, there was something new. Rebecca noticed that she was beginning to bruise easily. This shocked her. Something as simple as bumping her knee into the table would cause a dark, ugly bruise that seemed to take forever to go away.

Rebecca was finally fed up and went to see her doctor. After a series of blood tests, her doctor determined that her liver was not performing at its peak. Her labs were not within normal parameters, and without an underlying condition to pinpoint why she was left with more questions than answers.

So, she went home and started doing her own research. After hours on the internet, Rebecca found some information about a product that may help. And it uses simple ingredients that mankind has been using for centuries.

An indispensable organ

Of all the organs in your body, the liver is the largest. And with its many vital functions, it's easy to see why it needs to occupy so much space.

This often-forgotten organ is found in the right upper abdomen, below the diaphragm. It takes up most of the space under the ribs and is separated into a larger right lobe and a smaller left lobe.

Liver tissue comprises many smaller units of liver cells called lobules. Many canals carry blood and bile that run between the liver. Blood from the digestive system flows through the portal vein into the liver. This vein carries nutrients, medication, and toxic substances, which are stored, altered, detoxified, and passed back into the blood or released into the bowel to be eliminated.

Your liver gets rid of alcohol and the byproducts of medication as they break down in your body. With the help of vitamin K, the liver also produces proteins vital to the clotting of your blood.

Your liver also plays a crucial role in all metabolic processes. It breaks down fats and converts them to energy. Bile is also produced here and released into the duodenum of the intestinal tract. This bile is essential in your body for breaking down and absorbing fat.

In metabolizing carbohydrates, your liver helps ensure that the sugar level (blood glucose) stays constant. After a meal, as your blood sugar rises, your liver removes sugar from the blood and stores it as glycogen. If your sugar levels fall, your liver breaks down this glycogen and releases it as sugar into your system. Along with sugar, your liver stores vital nutrients such as iron and copper, releasing them into the blood as needed.

This organ is also vital in the metabolization of proteins. Liver cells change amino acids in food so they can be used to produce energy or converted to carbohydrates or fats. This process creates a toxic byproduct called ammonia. But don't worry. Your liver takes care of this toxin, also. It converts this ammonia into a much less toxic substance called urea. It is then transported to the kidneys, passing through the body in your urine.

As you can see, the liver is critical, and many ancient cultures even held the liver in a higher regard than the heart. Without it, toxins quickly build up in the system, and your metabolism doesn't work right. So, what are some of the most common signs that your liver isn't functioning as it should?

Signs your liver is in trouble.

Itchy skin: Without a rash, you might not take itchy skin seriously. However, itchy skin can occur when bile is present in the bloodstream due to liver damage. If your bile duct is blocked, the bile stagnates and flows back into the bloodstream. As this bile accumulates under the skin, it causes itching.

Spider angiomas: These are tiny spiderweb-like capillaries visible under the skin. Unsightly veins often appear on the face and legs because the arterioles (the branches that stem from your arteries to the capillaries) are enlarged. They are caused by high estrogen levels, which indicates that your liver is not functioning correctly and not metabolizing your hormones.

Bruising and bleeding: If you find yourself bruising or bleeding easier than usual after an injury, it could indicate an unhealthy liver. The proteins you need for clotting may no longer be produced in sufficient quantities.

Bad breath: This can be a tell-tale sign of liver damage. Bad breath during liver trouble is called fetor hepaticus. It produces a fruity, musky smell caused by high dimethyl sulfide, which occurs when you suffer liver cirrhosis.

Blemishes: Unsightly brown pigmentation can occur if the liver is not working correctly. As estrogen increases in the body, this causes an enzyme called tyrosinase, a copper-containing enzyme, to produce more melanin and can cause blemishes on the face or the entire body.

Red palms: burning, itching, and red palms are known as palmar erythema and can be a sign of liver damage. Abnormal hormone levels also cause this condition.

Lack of concentration: Two of the most significant functions of the liver are detoxifying and energizing the body. If your blood is overloaded with toxins, your brain can get affected. Couple that with your liver not metabolizing energy correctly, and you get fatigued, affecting mental clarity.

As you can see, these are just preliminary symptoms of something wrong. The liver is the primary way the body removes toxins, and it doesn't take long to start experiencing problems if your liver is functioning poorly.

As with all aspects of your health, maintaining a healthy and balanced diet is the first step. But what about the maintenance of this vital organ? Are there precautions you can take to ensure your liver is functioning correctly?

Keeping your liver healthy.

There are also compounds found in nature that has been used for thousands of years to detoxify the liver and protect it from harm.

Milk Thistle seed extract: Used by the Romans to rejuvenate and cleanse the liver. Studies show that the compounds found in milk thistle seed support damaged liver tissue.

Flaxseed: Choline and omega-3 fatty acids found in flaxseed increase the bioavailability of the milk thistle extract. This helps aid the liver and your overall health.

Burdock root: Used in China since ancient times to flush and detoxify the liver. This root is loaded with antioxidants; animal studies have shown that it helps protect the liver from damaging substances such as alcohol and acetaminophen.

These three different compounds have all been found to benefit a healthy liver. You could buy the three compounds separately and try to remember to take them daily. Or you could look at this great product from Medicine Man Plant Co. and get the support you need in one serving a day.
