3 Tips for Early Risers

Print
1 2 3

Some of us are night owls, others are early risers, and sometimes we can be a bit of both! If you’re an early riser more often than not, this one is for you!

Getting your day started off the right way is so important to how you approach what is ahead of you. When you get that early alarm call, the temptation is often to hit the snooze button multiple times until you finally get up and out of bed. When you begin your day feeling tired or in a big rush because you hit snooze one too many times, it can knock you off balance and you end up playing catch up through the day.

But! (And there is always a “but”!) You can garner a little control and try to ensure that you run the day rather than the day running you.

So, here are 3 tips for the early risers:

  1. Get a good night’s sleep. All it can take is one or two night’s poor sleep to knock off your week and leave you feeling sluggish and tired. Aim to catch at least 7-8 hours each night and if your work is of a more physical kind, you may need to add on a little more! Physical jobs can put your body through it during the day and so a mindful sleep practice will ensure that you wake up well-rested and energized for the day ahead.

  2. Get a morning workout in if you find it tough working out or doing some regimented activity in the evening. A morning workout can be as simple as taking the dog for a 20-minute walk or as ambitious as a 30-minute gym workout before your day job begins. You are an individual so cater to your needs according to what best fits your lifestyle. Staying active has many, many benefits- try not to sell yourself short on your fitness goals!

  3. An awesome cup of coffee! We often need a bit of a jump-start in the morning. A strong, sumptuous cup of coffee can increase your alertness, especially if you have a long commute to work or if you have a physically or mentally demanding job. Go for a medium or full-strength coffee to perk you up and get you started.

As winter draws in, colder days and darker nights may affect your mood and energy levels, so adjust your lifestyle where needed. Remember that sleeping well, staying active, and looking after your nutritional needs are the best ways to keep your well-being in check.

For the coffee lovers among us, Work Zone Coffee Co. have created their blends to get you going in the morning and keep you running through the day!

Work Zone Coffee Company was founded by Mitchell Wilson, a construction engineer with a passion for premium coffee and preventing accidents on the job site.

Mitchell started his career on a nuclear power plant construction project where he was exposed to rigorous workplace safety programs that served as an inspiration for Work Zone Coffee Company’s mission of supporting workplace safety initiatives. The project also utilized one of the world’s largest cranes, a heavy lift derrick that stood approximately 560-feet tall and served as an inspiration for Work Zone Coffee Company’s heavy-lift logo design of a crane hoisting a coffee cup.

He saw a need to bring truly good-tasting coffee to the blue-collar workforce while simultaneously aiming to improve safety and wellness outcomes for these workers. The company recently became a member of the National Safety Council and is working on teaming up with a leading national workplace safety professional platform to offer free training to workers at small and medium-size companies who aren’t able to employ in-house safety professionals.

Work Zone Coffee Company currently serves premium hand-roasted coffee in 5 varietals with options of ground and whole bean.

“All of our coffee beans are procured via direct trade, meaning we source directly from farmers allowing us to offer top dollar to farms that are producing the best quality beans. Every coffee that we sell is USDA certified organic as we believe that part of living a safe and healthy lifestyle is promoting all-natural ingredients”- Work Zone Coffee Company
