NATURE'S TROVE OF HEALTH GEMS

Great nutrition is an integral part of healthy living!  Good food, sourced from natures gems provide us with all-important vitamins and minerals that we need to function and flow through life. We cannot place demands on our body without first providing it with the fuel it needs. We could exercise and betray good nutrition but this would be like only experiencing half or less than half of what our body can really do for us when we treat it with love, respect, and care. It is what we eat that propels us forward! With that said, we know it’s not that easy when there are constraints placed on our wallets/purses…natural, organic food can make a bigger dent in our weekly shopping bill, but we can find ways to work some of nature’s magic into our flesh and bones. We just need to plan and prepare a little more and open our eyes to how we can truly make the biggest impact on our health and well-being. Here we look at some effective, inexpensive ways to embrace better nutrition.

1.    Frozen fruit and veggies

Frozen fruit and vegetables are frequently side-skipped at the store but they are a great way to get your 5 (or more) a day, and at a fraction of the price of chilled aisle produce. Frozen fruit and veg maintain their vitamin/mineral power because they are processed straight after harvesting. Nutrient losses are minimal in comparison to chilled produce that has been in transit, on the shelves, and in aisles for far longer- losing vital nutrients all along the way. We tend to waste more chilled produce as it rots and spoils fairly swiftly after we unpack them at home. So shopping for frozen/canned fruit/veg can also promote less food waste too!

2.    Supplements

Supplements can be an effective way to source some of nature’s goodies that we often neglect in the rush of daily life. They can act as a top-up to a good foundation that you build when it comes to your health and wellness. Many of us are switching up our diets for one reason or another, perhaps opting for a vegetarian/vegan diet or simply just being more conscious of any allergies that may have impacted us in some way. Whatever the case may be, we should be making confident choices on the supplements we use, and this all stems from knowledge. When shopping around for supplements, check ingredients, source some reviews or ask for recommendations…make the best and worthy choice for the individual that you are!

Integrity is the basis for better health and nutrition. Nature’s Trove is a US based company and has been in the vitamin manufacturing business for over twenty years. They know natural health supplements as well as we know our best friends!

They're passionate about vitamins and health and every gem of nature. They believe everyone should be able to use nature's fundamental goodness to stay healthy and feel great. Natures Trove sells directly to the consumer and not to retail. Their focus is on customer care and ensuring equality when it comes to price (meaning the customer gets access to pricing that normally only wholesalers/retailers get!).

As the years have passed, Nature’s Trove has seen the supplement business become almost an exclusive one. With through-the-roof pricing and retail companies forcing high rates, many people are not getting the vitamins they need because of the high expense. Nature’s Trove wholeheartedly believes that nature's wonders should be available to everyone.

As such, they are on a mission to lower supplement prices without lowering their high standards of quality. When the manufacturer delivers straight to you, the consumer, they cut out all extra costs along the way and pass those savings to you!

Nature's Trove takes deep pride in the quality of their supplements. Every batch is thoroughly tested to ensure that their customers are getting exactly what it says on the label.

“We follow strict GMP protocol along every step of the manufacturing process. There's no such thing as shortcuts or "good enough" when it comes to our products. We don't play games with your health, and neither should you. You can be confident that each and every vitamin that we produce is exactly what we say it is - no more and no less. With Nature's Trove, what you see is what you get”- Natures’ Trove.

Here we look at two supplements on offer at Nature’s Trove:

Green Tea Extract

Green tea supplements contain green tea extract, a substance shown to be in rich in antioxidants. These antioxidants include epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), which is considered to be the active constituent of green tea extract. Many green tea supplements also contain theanine, an amino acid thought to produce a calming effect.

  • Green tea extract is rich in antioxidants called catechins, which have been shown to increase antioxidant capacity and protect against oxidative stress.

  • Green tea extract has been shown to have a positive effect on brain health and memory and may help protect against brain diseases.

  • Green tea extract can aid weight loss by increasing the number of calories your body burns through thermogenesis.

  • Green tea extract increases antioxidant protection against oxidative damage caused by exercise. This translates to better exercise performance and recovery.

  • The combination of caffeine and L-theanine in Green Tea has synergistic effects to provide gentle energy that lasts throughout the day, which supports increased physical performance and mood.

5-HTP (5-hydroxytryptophan)

A naturally occurring substance derived from the seed pods of Griffonia simplicifolia, a West African medicinal plant. In humans, 5-HTP is the immediate nutrient precursor to the neurotransmitter serotonin (5-HT). This means that 5-HTP converts directly into serotonin in your brain. Serotonin plays many important roles, including better sleep, appetite, memory, learning, temperature regulation, mood, sexual behavior, cardiovascular function, muscle contraction, and endocrine regulation.

Another reason 5-HTP is so beneficial for sleep and mood is that once it is ingested, serotonin also gets converted into another important “master” chemical - melatonin. Melatonin is your body’s natural sleep hormone and controls your circadian rhythm and signals to your body when it’s time to start winding down for sleep. Melatonin is a potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immune system booster that is especially protective of the brain.

What's the problem with serotonin deficiency?

Serotonin production declines with age, and at any age, its abundance can be compromised further by stress. Low levels of serotonin are most commonly manifested by depressed mood, anxiety, and insomnia. They can also lead to various other complaints and disorders, diminishing one's quality of life. Dietary supplementation can help boost levels of 5 HTP and therefore serotonin and melatonin production, enabling you to live a better quality of life.

Good to know:

  • Green Tea has a focus of overall antioxidant along with better energy/performance and weight management.

  • 5HTP focuses on mood/anxiety/ sleep and not so much about weight management.

Nature’s Trove supplements are of superior quality and are lab-tested to ensure that. They are able to keep the prices down as they manufacture and sell directly to customers, bypassing the retailer and the additional costs incurred…so take advantage and seek out some of their health gems!
