The true benefits of a skin toner

I bet you’re thinking you don’t need a skin toner.

Yeah, I thought the same.

I mean, who uses skin toner, and what’s it really supposed to do anyway? And let’s be real -- do I actually need another skin product sitting on my bathroom counter? Quite honestly, that was the stance I took on Toners whenever readers asked if we could recommend an organic one.

But then, lo and behold -- Christina Moss Naturals recently up and released her own original organic formula. Now, given the fact that she makes her own stuff, and given the fact that I am already smitten with her Facial Moisturizer and Facial Wash, I had to give it a try. Admittedly, I approached it with more than a little skepticism, because after all, we’re talking about that nebulous “what’s-the-whole-point-anyway” product called “Toner.”

In looking over the 4 oz bottle I saw the ingredients are simple enough and true to the brand, it didn’t have any chemical ingredients or preservatives. That’s always a plus for me. It doesn’t really have an odor, except for a hint of witch hazel, which doesn’t bother me. And I know witch hazel has good properties for skin like fighting acne, psoriasis and eczema - none of which I suffer from - but it’s also an astringent, which really helps inflammation, and inflamed skin is what makes pores look huge, and shrinking the appearance of pores does interest me.

The other key ingredients are aloe, edelweiss, green tea extract and Coenzyme Q10 -- all organic. So, what I could see from the list of ingredients was a potion of goods that add up to being anti-aging, anti-wrinkle, high in vitamins A, C, E, folic acid, choline, B1, B2, B3, B6 and B12. It has a high mineral content with calcium, magnesium, zinc . . . and not only does this list go on and on, your skin needs all of it to stay fresh and young

Ok, so it all looked good on paper but the proof is in the face, right?

I used it per the instructions on the bottle and after a few days . . . nothing. I didn’t really see a change at all.  But I kept using it and after a week, I did begin to notice my pores actually looked smaller and my skin appeared more tone.

That’s when I had the epiphany! Toner = tone skin. Dah!

But the real kicker was when I began getting compliments about how I had nice looking skin. And that, my friend, is what any girl loves to hear.

In the final analysis Christina Moss Naturals has surprised and delighted me yet again. If you want to check it out for yourself, the link is below www.christinamossnaturals.com
