Herbs in your kitchen - Cilantro

Print
1 2 3

If you have ever eaten Asian or Mexican food, you have likely tasted cilantro. Also know as Chinese parsley or fresh coriander, this herb is a fragrant mix of parsley and citrus that adds fresh flavor to many dishes. Used extensively in Mexican, Asian, and Latin American cuisines, this fresh green herb has a distinctive, slightly soapy flavor and pungent scent.

Good to know: Instead of chopping cilantro with a knife, use small kitchen scissors to snip it. This will maintain the bright color of the leaves. Cilantro wilts and yellows quickly, so don’t buy it more than a day or two before you plan to use it.
