How to Better Manage Blood Sugar

1 2 3

In the past 20 years, the number of people diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes has almost doubled in the USA. It’s a sobering thought and numbers continue to increase.

Type 2 Diabetes accounts for over 90% of Diabetes cases. With this in mind, we need to take steps to look after our health and one of the best ways we can do this is by watching our blood sugar levels.

When blood sugar levels get too high or low for someone who has Type 2 Diabetes, it can be highly detrimental to them. For many of us, we take for granted that we can eat without really paying a thought to the effect it is having on our body in terms of our blood sugar- and the long-term consequences. However, being classed as overweight can significantly increase your risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes, you may even be pre-diabetic. Poor food choices over time can play havoc with blood sugar levels. This can impact your energy levels, alertness, and affect your weight to name but a few.

So, here are 4 ways to manage your blood sugar!

  1. Eat regularly and at regular times as much as possible. For instance, going without breakfast can mean that you “crash” at lunchtime, meaning that your blood sugar levels have fallen too low. This may cause you to feel dizzy, faint, lethargic, and very low on energy. Eating at regular times and avoiding skipping meals can help to stabilize your blood sugar- whether you are Type 2 Diabetic, Pre-Diabetic, or not.

  2. Watch the types of foods that you eat. Eating foods that raise your blood sugar level too sharply (all carbohydrates do this) can cause problems because you will still get that “crash” as your body uses up the sugar or glucose. Foods that act as a slow release of sugar into your blood are far healthier for you. A glycemic index chart can help you refine what you eat so that you can better manage your blood sugar levels. The glycemic index chart scores food according to their carbohydrate or glucose value and how quickly this is up-taken by the body.

  3. Drink more water. Rather than sodas or other fizzy drinks, or hot beverages laden with sugar and cream, try to make sure that most of your fluid intake is water. Water is a natural body balancer; it helps to clear out toxins and enables your kidneys to function better- as well as your body as a whole.

  4. Check it! If you are a Type 2 Diabetic, you may be well versed in testing your blood sugar levels throughout the day. However, if you have any concerns about your blood sugar or are considered pre-diabetic, checking your blood sugar levels a few times a day can help you maintain control and course-correct where needed. The home test for A1C can also be very useful in guiding your diabetes treatment.

Whichever the case may be, whether you are Diabetic or not, we all need to have a heightened awareness of this disease/condition. There is no cure for it, and so many tools we have for managing it better should be utilized.

Lysulin offers support for Type 2 Diabetics or those considered Pre-Diabetic or anyone concerned about maintaining healthy blood sugar levels. Dr. John Burd the CEO, and Founder of Lysulin, was also the founder of and the first CEO of DexCom. DexCom is the world leader in continuous glucose monitoring, now helping 2 million people worldwide to better manage their diabetes (without any fingersticks!).

In 2017, Dr. Burd created Lysulin, Inc. to further his crusade to help people with Type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, & those at risk of developing diabetes. The company’s first product, Lysulin, was launched in January 2018 and the clinical testing results have been outstanding.

Along with lowering blood glucose (like all type 2 drugs -working on the symptom, which is high blood glucose), Lysulin is targeting a new disease mechanism which is protein glycation and the production of AGEs, the cause of insulin resistance and disease complications.

Published clinical studies on diabetes and prediabetes showed that Lysulin improves insulin resistance and beta-cell function and slows or halts the progression from prediabetes to Type 2 Diabetes.

Here’s How Lysulin Helps You to Manage Your Blood Sugar Levels

The glucose in your bloodstream attaches to life-giving proteins, adversely affecting how these proteins are meant to work. As these undesirable “Glycated Proteins” increase, so do the A1c levels in your body, along with the risk of a variety of health problems.

Fortunately, there’s help! Lysulin acts as a guardian by binding to glucose, shielding your proteins from reacting with glucose. Lysulin is naturally bound to glucose and is safely excreted through urine. Put simply, Lysulin acts like a sponge to remove excess glucose.
