Testimonials

  • After several days trying this tea every which way I can think of, I am overall impressed. It is very easy to steep, my favorite way simply with lots of leaves and water at about 180-185 degrees. I've tried a variety of steep times, up to 8 minutes(!) and surprisingly, the tea does not become bitter. Very nice daily drinker.

  • For those who don't know this tea in the USA (which, speaking as a former tea buyer specializing in Taiwanese High Mountain Oolongs, virtually no one does): it's so special. Less hearty than the oolongs, but more flowery and ethereal. Wants a good long brew to come out fully, and I'm finding the second brew to be the most compelling.

  • This was my favorite tea out of my order. I probably wouldn't have chosen it myself, but it was recommended to me as an organically grown option. I'm so glad I tried it, because I was floored. A really beautiful sweet, creamy, slightly floral tea. I forgot about a couple of steeping’s while chasing after my baby, but there was never a hint of bitterness. Ever. So forgiving. And lifted my spirits after a night of no sleep. I also have to mention the awesome communication and customer service. Would not hesitate to order again. Thanks so much, Paul!

Beautiful Taiwan Tea Co. really started in 1992 with an innocent sip of an excellent Alishan Oolong while I was living at the base of Alishan Mountain in Central Taiwan. That eye-opening experience turned into a life-time passion culminating with my decision to open a premium quality online tea store in 2011.

My passion is to physically curate the best teas directly from the human beings who grow them. I call this Face to Farmer™ sourcing. It's very difficult but I believe it results in better tea for YOU, better treatment for the ENVIRONMENT, and better lives for FARMERS dedicated to their craft.

I frequently travel back and forth to visit and my many tea friends and farmers. Dear friends, tea experts and aficionados alike have been instrumental in helping us establish an exclusive network of the best farmers in Taiwan -- all the while providing you with fantastic teas harvest after harvest. We hope you'll love our teas and share them with your friends.

On behalf of our farmers and BTTC, Thanks.
