Omega 3 - responsible for your health

3 easy way to increase Omega-3 Fish Oil intake

1. Increase fish intake: Don’t forget the most famous source of Omega 3s: fish. The best choice: tuna, salmon, sardines, halibut, shrimps, scallops, trout, and herring. Note:  Fatty fish, such tuna, mackerel and halibut contain a lot of fatty acids that reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke. However, some species contain poisonous substances such as mercury and PCBs, which might be dangerous, particularly to pregnant women and children. 2. Increase plant based foods with the highest amount of Omega-3 fatty acids. Flaxseeds are probably the most well know plant-based source of Omega-3. Here is some satisfying Omega 3 shake to try:

2 tablespoons chia seeds (black or white)      

1 cup purified coconut water

2 cups fresh or frozen mixed berries (such as blackberries, blueberries)

1-cup plain unsweetened almond milk

2 tablespoons organic hone

Preparation

Whisk together the chia seeds and water and let stand for about 20 minutes. Makes about 1 1/3 cups chia gel. Place the chia gel, frozen or fresh berries, almond milk, honey, vanilla, and avocado in a blender. Cover and blend on high until thick and creamy. Enjoy!
