ARECHIN is the first drug with an indication for the treatment of coronavirus infections SARS-CoV, MERS-CoV

and SARS-CoV-2

 

 

Chloroquine is used to prevent or treat autoimmune diseases and malaria caused by mosquito bites in countries where malaria is common. Recent clinical studies indicate that Chloroquine phosphates is also effective in the treatment of COVID-19, a disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

March 13 this year The Office for Registration of Medicinal Products, Medical Devices and Biocidal Products in Poland issued a positive decision regarding the change to the marketing authorization for the medicinal product ARECHIN (Chloroquine phosphate), 250 mg, consisting in adding a new therapeutic indication. Infections with beta-type coronaviruses SARS-CoV, MERS-CoV, and SARS-CoV-2.

 

Registered Dosage:

Usually 500 mg twice a day for 1 tablet (250 mg) 7 to 10 days, not longer than 10 days

In justified cases, two tablets (500 mg) twice a day for 7 to 10 days, not longer than 10 days.

 

 

The product is manufactured at Adamed Pharma production facilities in Poland and will be available to patients requiring treatment with this product.

Adamed Pharma, a Polish pharmaceutical company, being a socially responsible company, secured the product inventory for the needs of the Ministry of Health and the Material Reserves Agency. The product will be distributed to patients under the instructions of the Minister of Health in Poland.
