Boosting Brainpower - NeuroActiv6 Style!

Our brain needs boosting brainpower support as much as any other vital organ. Think about how much work your brain must do! Our brain is the home of a vast and intrinsic network of neurons, receptors, and is the primary coordinator of all our thoughts, behaviors, and actions- and that is all an understatement in itself. The fact is, we take our brain for granted, much like our heart- but we cease to survive without them. Just as we exercise every other muscle in our body- our brain or brain power requires focus and attention to gain strength and mental acuity. Establishing better eating habits is primarily because the food is fuel! Alongside great nutrition, staying hydrated and active really builds a strong foundation for our brain health. Added to this, the following may prove helpful too!

1.    Work your brain

We can work our brain in many ways, we really want to exercise and reinforce that interconnectivity that is fundamental to our existence. It doesn’t need to be complex or expensive…try doing some puzzles, word searches, doing math without the use of a calculator, and taking part in activities that encourage greater coordination such as dancing- dancing and walking are two highly useful ways to not only support and build coordination but to enhance our memory because we don’t use a sat nav when we walk so we rely on our mental processes for direction, and memorizing dance steps engages our brain to recall certain movements.

2.    De-stress- Meditate or listen to music

Stress clutters up our mind and makes us feel blocked, confused and stuck. It drains our mental and emotional energy too. When we are looking at ways to boost our brain power, reducing our levels of stress is a key component. We need adequate rest so that we can have clarity in order to make better choices think more openly, and simply “breathe” to empower our oxygen supply rather than obstruct it through stress and anxiety. Taking a power nap of around 20 minutes has been shown to sharpen our mental processes and provide us with a mini-reset to our day. A tired mind weighs heavy upon our whole body; a mind that is alert and awake encourages productivity, dynamism, and flow.

A great quote by the American scientist Michael Merzenich says “My brain power depends on my retained mastery of analyzing in detail what's happening in my world and in my mind and body. I must continue to practice to retain my constructive and analytic powers. The goal is to be a master of my environment”.

And this is ultimately the case, Daryl- founder of NaturalCell Supplements shared a little of his story about how he mastered his world with us here.

In 2004 Daryl was diagnosed with MS. Several years after his Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis, Daryl experienced an episode in which he was rushed to the emergency room after experiencing uncontrollable dizziness and nausea that had his face down on a parking lot one day during work. From that day forward, Daryl went on a mission to take total control of his health.  He spent a couple years researching everything about controlling MS and autoimmune systems through healthy eating, supplementation, and exercise. He eventually self-published a book titled “MS - Living Symptom Free” which became a best seller in the MS community.

However, the real turning point in his life came when he was in a severe bicycle accident several years after the publication of the book. The accident left his brain battered and bruised with a severe concussion, traumatic brain injury, and vestibular disorder.

Luckily, one of the top brain doctors in the world turned him onto the power of BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) to rebuild a brain after injury. And he explained how countless studies have shown that higher levels of BDNF counteract damage to the brain, reduce symptoms of depression, and is critical for brain cell survival and regeneration. So Daryl began learning everything he could about BDNF.

For years, the general consensus has been that there’s nothing you can do about the fatigue, brain fog and the mental decline that goes along with aging. But what if that wasn’t true at all? Science has recently discovered that almost everything to do with aging, memory, concentration, depression, anxiety and even things like how good of a driver you are, or how easy it is for you to make friends …is controlled by one “master protein” in your brain, brain-derived neurotrophic factor (or BDNF for short).

When BDNF levels are high, acquiring new knowledge is easy, memories are retained, and you feel energized, happy and productive- this is why it’s often referred to as a “fountain of youth” by leading neuroscientists. Think of BDNF as a high-performance protein powder that helps you build muscles at the gym… but for your brain.

The problem was there next to no information out there on how to increase BDNF levels in your brain (outside of strenuous exercise which wasn’t possible in his condition).

So Daryl began researching “natural” ways to boost BDNF production and began experimenting with his own personal BDNF and brain-boosting cocktail. What he found was according to the top brain researchers, a group of polyphenol-rich fruits and vegetables, adaptogen herbs, and specific neuro-nutrients can help boost BDNF levels in your brain and have the power to protect against neurodegenerative diseases.

He worked with top brain researchers and nutritionists, and partnered with the leading and most trusted dietary supplement manufacture in America and founded his company, NaturalCell Supplements with longtime friend and fellow entrepreneur and health enthusiast, Anthony Almeida. Together, they began formulating a solution that would help as many people as possible benefit from these ingredients.

Starting with a base of organic polyphenols, they included specific fruits and vegetables like blueberries, beets, Acai, Acerola, pomegranate, and 28 additional ingredients, all chosen for their unique anti-aging and fatigue-fighting abilities. Their mission was to support, protect and revitalize the brain from every possible angle, which is why in addition to our Organic Polyphenol Fruit & Vegetable blend; they also included 6 specific brain and energy boosting ingredients.

The result was NeuroActiv6.

NeuroActiv6 has been specifically designed to include polyphenol compounds, nootropics, and bio-active ingredients that work to promote a healthy inflammatory response, lower oxidative stress and support healthy cortisol levels, raise BDNF levels, and promote "neural communication"; enabling neurons to talk to each other more effectively.

In addition to the organic fruit and vegetable blend, they added NeuroFactor coffee fruit extract for its unique ability to raise BDNF levels in humans.  In fact, 100mg has been shown to increase BDNF levels by 143%.

Unlike a lot of supplements that conceal the exact dosage and ingredients in their formulas, they are completely transparent so you know exactly how much of each of our specific neuro-nutrients:

  • 250mg of cortisol-lowering Sensoril Ashwagandha

  • 100mg of BDNF boosting NeuroFactor Coffee Fruit

  • 150mg of Inflammation fighting Organic Turmeric

  • 250mg of focus and concentration restoring Cognizin Citicoline

  • 2500mg of a detoxifying Organic Fruit and Vegetables Blend
